The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour made their 1st stop of 2005 at the Caraway Speedway, in Asheboro, North Carolina, for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150.
Alex Hoag had the honor of leading the field to the green flag on a clear night as all twenty one drivers were making history by racing in a brand new NASCAR Series. Hoag would also lead the first ever laps in series history but his stay up front would be short lived as Ted Christopher would take the lead on Lap 7. The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour made their 2nd stop of 2005 at the Caraway Speedway, in Asheboro, North Carolina, for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150.
Jay Foley led the field to the green flag as for the second race in a row drivers raced around the small 0.455 mile short track as once again drivers gave each other space throughout the night, leading to no cautions or wrecks. Jay Foley would lead for the first thirty five laps before losing the lead to fifth place starter Brian Cranmer. Once in the lead, Cranmer would lead all but one of the remaining 97 laps to score a dominating win.

The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour made their 3rd stop of 2005 at the Caraway Speedway, in Asheboro, North Carolina, for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150.
Jay Hedgecock led the field to the green flag as for the third race in a row drivers raced around the small 0.455 mile short track as once again drivers gave each other space throughout the night leading to great racing action. Hedgeock, who had turned fifty just two months prior, showed he still had what it takes as he completely dominated the race and set several new records(biggest margin of victory, becoming the oldest driver to win a race and became the first driver to lead every single lap) on his way to scoring his first career win.

The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour made their 4th stop of 2005 at the Caraway Speedway, in Asheboro, North Carolina, for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150.
Burt Myers led the field to the green flag as for the fourth race in a row drivers raced around the small 0.455 mile short track but this time it was Alex Hoag who would make a move in Turn 4 and would lead the first lap. Unlike the previous race, cautions would fly during the race and keep things close, but a long green flag run toward the end of the race spread out the field and allowed Hoag to stay in the lead and would go on to score his first win.

The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour made their 5th stop of 2005 at the Bowman Gray Stadium, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the Advance Auto Parts 199.
Jay Hedgecock led the field to the green flag for the second time in his career as for the first time drivers raced for the first time at the legendary Bowman Gray Stadium. Tim Brown would get a strong run out on the outside and would take the lead as an early caution kept the field close for the first fifteen laps before Brown would begin to pull away and from that point on, no one had anything for Brown as he would lead every single lap for his first career win.
