Race #8 - Radisson 200
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 8th stop of 1998 at the Pikes Peak International Raceway, in Fountain, Colorado, for the Radisson 200.
Stephan Gregoire led the field to the green but it was defending race winner Tony Stewart who would get a great jump on the start and took the lead going into Turn 1, quickly building up a lead as one year prior, Stewart led 198 of the 200 laps and the first half of the event it looked like he was going to do the same, losing the lead during the first round of pit stops to Buddy Lazier, but taking it back on the restart. On Stewart's tail was fellow championship rival Kenny Brack, who passed Stewart with seventy three laps to go. Brack would keep a hold of the lead despite Stewart trying to take it back, as Brack was able to hang on and score his third win of the season and second in a row.

Race #9 - Atlanta 500 Classic
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 9th stop of 1998 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, in Hampton, Georgia, for the inaugural Atlanta 500 Classic.
Points leader Kenny Brack led the field to the green as drivers raced for the first time at Atlanta. Brack would pick up right where he left off at Pikes Peak, building a big lead in the first fifty laps before he was passed by Scott Goodyear, who was Brack's only challenger for the day. Three cautions would slow the event, and Brack was able to lead five times during the event, taking the lead for good during the final round of pit stops on Lap 159, and from then on he had to hold off a hard charging Eddie Cheever Jr. to score his 4th win of 1998 and the third in a row.

Race #10 - Lone Star 500
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 10th stop of 1998 at the Texas Motor Speedway, in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Lone Star 500.
Raul Boesel led the field to the green but it was Jeff Ward who would lead the first lap as drivers raced for only the third time in series history at the mile and a half track as Ward would lead for a brief time before Robby Unser took the lead and showed the talent that his same family members with the same name had while several big early crashed kept the field bunched up for the first half of the event. The battles for the lead and position happened nearly every lap around the track as Roberto Guerrero found himself in the lead late in the race and appeared on his way to victory, but a late caution spoiled his chances.
Jeff Ward would pass Guerrero with twenty one laps to go, and with another caution coming out shortly there after, Ward would get a great jump on the restart and was able to hold off Davey Hamilton for his first win in over a year.

Race #11 - Las Vegas 500K
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made the 11th and final stop of 1998 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the Las Vegas 500K.
Buddy Lazier led the field to the green but it was Arie Luyendyk who would lead the first laps and pulled away to nearly a three second lead before the first caution. The fans were given a great show as battle for the lead and position happened all day long while both championship contenders Kenny Brack and Tony Stewart struggled. Luyendyk assumed the lead late and appeared on his way to victory lane, but a late caution came out, closing the field back up. Pole sitter Buddy Lazier quickly passed Luyendyk after the green came back out and cruised to his first win in over a year.
Meanwhile, taking the Checkered Flag in 20th, Kenny Brack, despite being involved in the first caution and getting severe damage, is the 1997 Pep Boys Indy Racing League Champion, beating Tony Stewart by 40 points.
