Race #8 - Vortex Brake Pads 200It was a clear night in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada as the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series entered Round 8 of the 2009 season at the Mosport Speedway for the Vortex Brake Pads 200. John Gaunt led the field to the Green Flag but it was Scott Steckly who would lead the the first lap around the half mile track before Gaunt took the lead back on Lap 2 and would begin to show the power in his Dodge, keeping all challengers behind him while building up an impressive lead for the first half of the race but that would all change when the race's first caution came out on Lap 93 for Joey McColm's stalled car. During pit stops, Gaunt's crew took too long making adjustments to the car and actually fell a lap down to the new race leader Ron Beauchamp Jr., who would take advantage on the restart and pulled away, building up a lead of nearly ten seconds before the race's second and final caution came out on Lap 141 for debris. After running thirteen laps behind the pace car, when the race resumed, Beauchamp would pick off where he left off, building up a lead of over five seconds over the final quarter of the race to easily score his second win of 2009. Race #12 - Komatsu 300It was a clear day in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada as the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series entered Round 12 of the 2009 season at the Riverside Speedway for the Komatsu 300. Donald Chisholm led the field to the Green Flag but it was Joey Hanssen who would lead the first laps around the 0.333 mile short track as only two drivers had a mathematical shot of still winning the championship with two races to go, Andrew Ranger and Ron Beauchamp Jr., as Ranger would strike first, assuming the lead briefly on Lap 56, losing it back one lap later before taking it back again before the first of three cautions fell. Once the green flag came back out, Ranger was on a mission to wrap up his first ever championship, while Beauchamp fought to keep his championship hopes alive, staying inside the Top 5 nearly all race long when finally on Lap 210, Beauchamp ran out of luck as he was involved in the race's final caution when Donald Chisholm crashed into the pit road wall, with nowhere to go, Beauchamp ran into the back of Chisholm, destroying the front end of his car, and almost even taking out a leading Ranger. Race #13 - Z-Line Designs 250It was a cloudy day in Fraserville, Ontario, Canada as the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series entered Round 13 of the 2009 season at the Kawartha Speedway for the Z-Line Designs 250. D.J. Kennington led the field to the Green Flag as drivers raced for the final time in 2009 as Andrew Ranger had already locked up the championship in the last round at Riverside, but drivers still was looking to end the season on a high note.
