Race #21 - Busch Southern Tier 150The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour made their 21st stop of 1986 at the Shangri-La Motor Speedway, in Owego, New York, for the Busch Southern Tier 150. Ken Bouchard led the field to the green flag and would keep command of the race around the half mile track as the crowd was given a great showing by the drivers in the race until the lone caution came out on Lap 53 as Bouchard would lose the lead during pit stops to Bob Park before regaining it back. Once the race went back to green, Bouchard would keep command of the field once again and built up a three second lead as he would start lapping drivers as soon as he caught lap traffic, which allowed for Jimmy Spencer to cut into his lead each lap, and with nineteen laps to go he would pass Bouchard for the lead. The points leader would use his past experience and would build up a two second lead thanks to lap traffic and would go on to easily score his 4th win of 1986.
