Race #9 - Hampton 200
The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series made their 9th stop of the 1984 season in Hampton, Virginia, the site of the Langley Speedway for the Hampton 200.
Sam Ard led the field to the Green Flag but it was Billy Hogan who would get a run on the high side and lead the first three laps as Ard would take over by lap six and began to pull away just like he did at Nashville as the small 0.395 track turned out to be one of the most competitive races in Langley history as the lead swapped hands ten times between six drivers and only four cautions leading to tons of racing action and battles for the lead.
Dale Jarrett, having gone win less since his dominating performance in the season finale at Martinsville in 1983, capitalized on Sam Ard being trapped a lap down during pit stops and was able to dominate much of the day before 1982 champion Jack Ingram would take the lead late. Dale Jarrett was able to track down Ingram and would go on to hold off Eddie Falk for his first win in 1984.
Other Noticeables: Dale Jarrett scored his 1st win of the year, Jarrett led 3 times for 125 laps, including the final 22 laps, It was the 6th win of his career in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series and his first since 1983 at Martinsville; 9 races ago, Sam Ard, who finished 12th, kept his points lead, leading Jack Ingram by 17 points

Race #10 - Red Carpet 200
The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series made their 10th stop of the 1984 season in West Allis, Wisconsin, the site of the Milwaukee Mile for the inaugural Red Carpet 200.
Sam Ard led the field to the Green Flag as for the first time in the three year history of the the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series, drivers raced on the legendary Milwaukee Mile. Pole sitter Sam Ard led early before drivers began to play strategy with some pitting during the first caution and leading to a weird rundown as drivers such as Bob Schacht and Fred Zack would lead. When everyone pitted with less then seventy to go that put everyone on equal ground and Alan Kulwicki, who was making his NASCAR Busch Grand National Series debut, became the leader and seemed well on his way to victory lane.
However with less then thirty laps to go a caution came out for debris which set up a shootout to the finish and it was NASCAR Winston Cup Series star Bobby Allison who would drive around rookie Alan Kulwicki with less then twenty laps to go and would hold on to score his first ever NASCAR Busch Grand National Series win.
Other Noticeables: Bobby Allison scored his 1st win of the year, Allison led 1 time for 17 laps, including the final 17 laps, It was the 1st win of his career in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series in his 14th start, Alan Kulwicki(2nd), Bob Schacht(6th), Dick Trickle(7th), Fred Zack(12th), Bob Brevak(19th) and Michael Marden(21st) made their NASCAR Busch Grand National Series debuts, Sam Ard, who finished 3rd, kept his points lead, leading Tommy Houston by 27 points

Race #11 - Budweiser 200
The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series made their 11th stop of the 1984 season in Dover, Delaware, the site of the Dover Downs International Speedway for the Budweiser 200.
Ron Bouchard led the field to the Green Flag and would lead the first nine laps as the track nicknamed "The Monster Mile" proved to be pretty calm as only two cautions would fly and the only drivers to not finish were due to mechanical issues. Points leader Sam Ard would take the lead on Lap ten and would lead much of the early half of the race before fellow championship rival Jack Ingram would take over and appeared on his way to his first win as he held a ten second lead over Ard with less then thirty laps to go.
However on Lap 170 controversy would erupt as Jack Ingram would spin out Frank Dickerson, who was making his NASCAR Busch Grand National Series debut and was running more then three miles behind the minimum speed, bringing out the second and final caution of the day. With the field caught back up, Ard took advantage of Ingram's mistake and took the lead with fifteen laps to go. With Ingram having to deal with lap traffic, Ard, whose's previous best finish at Dover was 19th twice and having only led 3 laps at the track, pulled away and scored his third win of the season.
Other Noticeables: Sam Ard scored his 3rd win of the year, Ard led 3 times for 91 laps, including the final 15 laps, It was the 16th win of his career in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series and his first since Nashville; 4 races ago, Frank Dickerson(15th) and Eric Emhoff(18th) made their NASCAR Busch Grand National Series debuts, Sam Ard, who finished 1st, kept his points lead, leading Tommy Houston by 37 points

Race #12 - Mello Yello 300
The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series made their 12th stop of the 1984 season in Concord, North Carolina, the site of the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Mello Yello 300.
Lake Speed led the field to the Green Flag but it would be NASCAR Winston Cup star Bobby Allison who would make a three wide pass in Turn 1 and lead the first lap. At that point, Allison began to put on a show. Having scored his first career NASCAR Busch Grand National Series win at Milwaukee just two weeks and finishing 3rd at Dover, Allison would lead all but fourteen of the first one hundred laps. Outside of Allison, the racing was intense as a "big one" would strike on Lap 73 knocking several drivers out.
With Allison retaking the lead on Lap 87, it appeared he would be unstoppable as his lead would stretch to nearly ten seconds at one point. However a late caution with seventy to go would stack the field back up and then, some twenty laps later the unthinkable happened; Allison blew up, his chance of winning over. With Allison out of the race, pole sitter Lake Speed became the new race leader. Having not led a single lap until Allison's departure, Speed would hold off a fierce challenge from Dale Earnhardt and Morgan Shepherd to score his first ever NASCAR Busch Grand National Series win.
Other Noticeables: Lake Speed scored his 1st win of the year, Speed led 1 time for 46 laps, including the final 46 laps, It was the 1st win of his career in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series in his 4th start, Mike McLaughlin(8th), Bobby Boggero(19th) and Tom Peck(25th) made their NASCAR Busch Grand National Series debuts, Sam Ard, who finished 5th, kept his points lead, leading Tommy Houston by 152 points

The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series made their 13th stop of the 1984 season in South Boston, Virginia, the site of the South Boston Speedway for the Busch 200.
Points leader Sam Ard led the field to the Green Flag as the track turned out to be a pretty tame race compared to previous races at the track. After capitalizing on Tommy Houston's early exit at Charlotte, Ard gained nearly one hundred points on his lead and coming into South Boston Ard was looking to continue his hot streak as Ard has dominated South Boston in the past with two poles, three wins, over four hundred laps led and a worst finish of 22nd. Race #14 - Yount 200
The NASCAR Busch Grand National Series made their 14th stop of the 1984 season in Hickory, North Carolina, the site of the Hickory Motor Speedway for the Yount 200.
Jack Ingram led the field to the Green Flag but it would be Ronnie Silver who would lead the first lap before Jack Ingram would retake it a lap later. Ingram's stay up front would be short lived as well before Brad Teague would take command. Much of the race was a good battle all over as Teague lapped drivers and kept a five second lead on everyone, losing the lead only during a round of pit stops and appeared well on his way to scoring his first ever NASCAR Busch Grand National Series win.
However a lone caution with less then fifty laps to go would set up a dash to the finish as Tommy Houston, who led briefly during the pit stops, would take the lead and would go on to score his second win in a row at Hickory.
Other Noticeables: Tommy Houston scored his 3rd win of the year, Houston led 2 times for 34 laps, including the final 32 laps, It was the 9th win of his career in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series and his first since Darlington; 9 races ago, Sam Ard, who finished 6th, kept his points lead, leading Tommy Houston by 132 points
