The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 16th stop of 1985 at the Riverhead Raceway, in Riverhead, New York, for the Weld-Built 150.
Ed Brunnhoelzl Jr. led a field of twenty four drivers to the green as for the second time in series history, drivers raced at the quarter mile Riverhead Raceway. Brunnhoelzl Jr. would lead the first twenty six laps as drivers battled for every position while the battle for the lead was as intense as well as three drivers would swap the lead four times during the first one hundred laps. Tony Siscone, who was making his sixth career start, had a breakout day as he would lead all but fifty laps, taking the lead with five laps to go and went on to score the first win of his career.

Race #17 - NASCAR Doubleheader
The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 17th stop of 1985 at the Catamount Stadium, in Milton, Vermont, for the NASCAR Doubleheader.
Jimmy Spencer led a field of only sixteen drivers to the green flag, the smallest starting field in series history up to this point. Spencer quickly pulled away from the field as drivers battled around the 0.333 mile track for the first time, Spencer's lead building to nearly ten seconds when the lone caution came out on Lap 22. When the green came back out, Spencer pulled away yet again. Having gone over a month since his last victory, where he led all but eight laps, Spencer this time kept all challengers behind him, lapping all but Brian Ross, to score a dominating win.

Race #18 - Star 85
The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 18th stop of 1985 at the Star Speedway, in Epping, New Hampshire, for the Star 85.
Jimmy Spencer led the field to the green flag for the second straight race and picked up right where he left off at Catamount, leading laps, but this time Spencer had challengers all over him. Brian Ross would take the lead on Lap 24, leading for ten laps before he was passed by Jeff Fuller, who in turn was passed by Tom Oliver. Oliver's stay up front lasted only ten laps before Fuller reclaimed the lead and set sail, keeping the lead up until the end of the scheduled distance on Lap 8. Due to the rules used by the series, the race was extended an extra eight laps due to all the caution laps, and even then when the race continued, no one had anything for Fuller, who would hold off Jimmy Spencer for his second win of 1985.

The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 19th stop of 1985 at the Thompson Speedway, in Thompson, Connecticut, for the Winston 100.
Joe Mammolito led the field to the green flag and would keep all challengers behind him for the first twenty two laps before Jeff Fuller took the lead. Several cautions, six in fact, slowed the race, causing 30 of the 100 laps to be run behind the pace car. Fuller, who had won at Star Speedway just four days earlier, continued his success as he held off Jerry Cranmer to score his third win of the season and second in a row.

The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 20th stop of 1985 at the Waterford Speedbowl, in Waterford, Connecticut, for the Busch 100.
Richie Gallup led the field to the green flag and would keep all challengers behind him for the first twenty two laps before Bobby Gada took the lead and began to pull away from everyone behind him as he built up nearly a four second lead but with less then twenty laps to go he caught traffic, allowing everyone to pull up onto him as points leader Richie Evans took the lead with ten to go but he was passed by Bugs Stevens. Stevens was able to work his way through lap traffic during the final laps and hung on for his first career win.

The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 21st stop of 1985 at the Riverhead Raceway, in Riverhead, New York, for the Miller 200.
Bob Park led the field to the green flag and would lead the first three laps before Tom Baldwin took the lead and would lead much of the early half before a early wreck took him out. Several other cautions kept the battles for the lead and position close as the fifth and final caution would allow for points leader Richie Evans to reclaim the lead late and would go on to score his record setting 9th win of the season.

Race #22 - Pentax 200
The NASCAR Winston Modified Tour Series made their 22nd stop of 1985 at the Stafford Motor Speedway, in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, for the Pentax 200.
Brian Ross led the field to the green flag and would quickly begin to build up a lead as for only the third time in series history drivers raced at the half mile track. Ross was able to keep all challengers behind him as he carefully worked his way through lap traffic, and even when a late caution came out, no one had anything for Ross, who lapped all but points leader Richie Evans, led every single lap, and scored his first career win.
