It was a clear day in Jacksonville, North Carolina as the NASCAR Convertible Series made their 1st stop of the 1957 season at the Jacksonville Speedway.
Joe Weatherly led the field to the Green Flag but it was Bill Poor who would lead the first laps before Weatherly took it back on Lap 20, losing the lead during a round of pit stops after the first caution. Bun Emery would lead briefly before Glen Wood took the lead and he began to build up a pretty big lead, losing it shortly after the halfway mark before Whitey Gerken took the lead, leading for twenty laps, losing the lead back to Wood. Back in the lead, Wood would pull away from all challengers, lapping the field and cruising to an easy win.

It was a clear day in Daytona Beach, Florida as the NASCAR Convertible Series made their 2nd stop of the 1957 season at the Beach & Road Course.
Tim Flock led the field to the Green Flag but it was 1956 NASCAR Convertible Series Champion Bob Welborn who would lead the first lap as the 15,000 people in the stands were given another classic race at the Daytona Beach road course. Battles for the lead happened nearly every lap for the first twenty laps before pit stops happened, and when it did, drivers got stuck in the mud from the rain the day prior, causing many to get stuck on pit road. Having not led a single lap until the pit stop cycle, Tim Flock assumed the lead and would easily cruise on to score his first career win in his first ever start.

Lee Petty led the field to the Green Flag and would jump out to an early lead before 1956 NASCAR Convertible Series Champion Bob Welborn took over on Lap 26 and he began to lap drivers as no cautions would come out during the event as Lee Petty would pass Welborn briefly before Welborn took the lead back and built up a lead of more then five seconds and easily scored his first win of 1957.

It was a clear night in Manassas, Virginia as the NASCAR Convertible Series made their 5th stop of the 1957 season at the Old Dominion Speedway.
Don Oldenberg led the field to the Green Flag but it was Possum Jones, who would get a run on the high side, and would lead the first lap before pulling away from his challengers as a hot night kept the 5,300 fans in attendance watched the drivers racing close to each other all night long as Jones dominated the first half of the event but slowly working his way up from the tenth spot was Pete DePaolo driver Joe Weatherly, who passed Jones on Lap 75 when Jones was struggling to pass John Dodd. Weatherly went on to build up a lead of nearly ten seconds but a late caution set up a ten lap shootout, but once again Weatherly was able to pull away and easily scored his first win of 1957.

It was a cloudy day in Hillsborough, North Carolina as the NASCAR Convertible Series made their 6th stop of the 1957 season at the Orange Speedway.
Curtis Turner led the field to the Green Flag and would lead the first four laps before Gwyn Staley took over for four laps as well when on Lap 9 Joe Weatherly took the lead for the first time. The points leader was able to pull away to about a two second lead before the first caution, at which point everyone made their lone stop of the day. Weatherly would lose the lead briefly to the debuting Ken Rush, before regaining the lead back one lap later. Weatherly was then able to pull back to a five second lead over the next thirty laps, keeping lap traffic between him and his challengers, before the lead was cut back down to three seconds in the final laps, but Weatherly held on for this second win of 1957.

Turner passed Wood for the lead on Lap 110 and Wood's day would get worse as running in 3rd, Wood would be involved in a five car crash. With his toughest challenger out of the race, Turner drove on uncontested to score his 21st career win.
