The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 1st stop of 1999 at the Walt Disney World Speedway, in Orlando, Florida, for the Transworld Diversified Services 200.
Raul Boesel led the field to the green and would quickly pull away to a big lead early on, keeping the lead until just after the halfway mark, until Scott Sharp moved past him and would lead until he pitted, handing the lead over to Eddie Cheever Jr., who led for four laps, before Sharp took the lead back and he would be untouchable, building up a five second lead and scoring his first career win.

The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 2nd stop of 1999 at the Phoenix International Raceway, in Avondale, Arizona, for the MCI WorldCom 200.
Scott Goodyear led the field to the green and would quickly pull away to a big lead as drivers quickly spread out around the track, with Goodyear lapping drivers by the fifty lap before the lone caution would come out. Goodyear would keep the lead till he lost it to Billy Boa who lead briefly before Goodyear would reclaim it with eighteen laps to go and would go on to win for the first time in almost two years for his second career win.

Race #3 - Indianapolis 500
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 3rd stop of 1999 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, in Speedway, Indiana, for the Indianapolis 500.
Robby Unser led the field to the green and would lead the first lap before 1997 Indianapolis race winner Jeff Ward took the lead and he quickly used his past experience at the track to pull away to a early year as the "Brickyard" once again proved to be a race of endurance as twelve cautions would fly during the event, while battling for position and the lead kept the sellout fans in attendance hooked and on the edge of their seats. Robby McGehee, who was making his debut in the race, surprised alot of people, as he dominated much of the day, leading 85 of the 200 laps, but late in the race he lost the lead to pole sitter Robby Unser with eleven laps to go who appeared on his way to his first career win.
In a group of four cars was the 1997 Indy Racing League Champion Kenny Brack, who had been involved in a earlier crash but his team was able to repair the damage, and with seven laps to go, Brack made his move and took the lead, and despite how much Unser tried, he was unable to get past Brack, who scored the biggest win of his career.

The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 4th stop of 1999 at the Texas Motor Speedway, in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Longhorn 500.
Mark Dismore led the field to the green and would lead the first two laps before points leader Scott Goodyear and quickly began to build up a lead in the first half of the race as only one caution would fly during the first hundred laps, due to debris. Goodyear would briefly lose the lead during pit stops, but would quickly regain it back, as he was never passed on track, even when a late caution came out, no one had anything for Goodyear, who would lead all but eight laps, to score a dominating win.

Race #5 - Radisson 200
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 5th stop of 1999 at the Pikes Peak International Raceway, in Fountain, Colorado, for the Radisson 200.
Greg Ray led the field to the green as for only the third time in series history drivers raced at the mile track, the 18,000 fans in attendance got their money's worth as battles for position and cautions would play a major factor in who would win. Grey Ray would dominate for most of the race, leading 80 of 200 laps, but during pit stops in the middle of the race, Ray was trapped a lap down and was unable to get back into contention. That opened the door for Kenny Brack to take over and led for awhile before second in points Jeff Ward took over. Ward appeared on his was to victory until Davey Hamilton caught him with thirty laps to go and when a caution came out with five laps to go when Ward was spun out, Hamilton had to hold off Sam Schmidt and Buddy Lazier for the final two laps to score his first career win.

Race #6 - Kobalt Mechanics Tools 500
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 6th stop of 1999 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, in Hampton, Georgia, for the Kobalt Mechanics Tools 500.
Robby Unser led the field to the green in front of a crowd of 32,000 fans in attendance as the son of the legendary Bobby Unser, Robby would live up to the Unser name as he would be impressive for the first have of the race, leading 99 of the first 107 laps before losing the lead to Scott Sharp. Unser would be involved in a late crash which would knock him out of contention while Sharp would lose the lead to Eddie Cheever Jr. and then Davey Hamilton. Hamilton would pull away from Cheever but the last few laps he would run into lap traffic which allowed Cheever to not only cut into a three second lead, but take the lead with three laps to go and would hold off Hamilton for his first career win.

Race #7 - MBNA Mid-Atlantic 200
The Pep Boys Indy Racing League made their 7th stop of 1999 at the Dover Downs International Speedway, in Dover, Delaware, for the MBNA Mid-Atlantic 200.
Greg Ray led the field to the green in front of a crowd of 15,000 fans in attendance as Ray jumped out to an early lead until shortly after the first caution when Kenny Brack assumed the lead. Brack would should the power his car had as he began lapping drivers quickly, lapping into the Top 10 by the halfway mark, leading 132 of the 200 laps, only to be passed late in the race by Sam Schmidt. Schmidt appeared on his way to victory until he pulled to the apron with twenty four laps to go, reporting of a flat tire, handing the lead back to Ray.
Ray was able to use lap traffic to keep his challengers behind him over the remaining laps to score his first career win.
