It was a cloudy day in Flat Rock, Michigan as the NASCAR Convertible Series made their 23rd stop of the 1956 season at the Flat Rock Speedway.
Curtis Turner led the field to the Green Flag but it would be Jimmie Lewallen who would lead the first sixteen laps as the small 0.250 mile track turned out to be a brutal race, with tons of cautions leading to alot of drivers up front leading brief laps but it would be "Tiger"Tom Pistone, who after taking the lead for the first time on Lap 86, would dominate the day, leading 145 of the 250 laps, and would go on to score an easy win, the first of his career in the NASCAR Convertible Series.

The NASCAR Convertible Series made their 24th stop of 1956 at the New York State Fairgrounds, in Syracuse, New York.
Curtis Turner led a field of twenty two drivers to the green in front of a crowd of 7,500 in attendance as Turner quickly began to pull away as drivers raced around the one mile dirt track for the first time in convertible series history. Turner used the power that his Pete DePaolo owned Ford had as he was never truly challenged during the race even after pit stops and Turner was able to lead every single lap and scored a dominating win.

Possum Jones led a field of twenty one drivers to the green in front of a crowd of 4,800 in attendance as the NASCAR Convertible Series raced for the very first time in Canada. Joe Weatherly got a great run going into turn one and would pass Jones for the lead and quickly began to pull away. Having gone winless unlike his fellow Pete DePaolo teammate Curtis Turner, Weatherly used the power his Ford had keeping all challengers behind him and the race result was never in doubt as Weatherly would score his first win by leading every single lap just like Turner had done two days prior at New York Fairgrounds.

The NASCAR Convertible Series made their 29th stop of 1956 at the Ft. Wayne Speedway, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
Glen Wood led a field of twenty drivers to the green but it would be Curtis Turner who would get a great jump on the outside and would quickly take the lead in Turn 1. Picking where he left off the past two races, Turner once again dominated the race, losing the lead only once when he lost a lap for pitting due to a flat tire, but was able to gain the lap and the lead back in less then ten laps due to a caution and from that point on Turner was unchallenged, and would easily go on and scored his third win in a row, and his eighth win of the season.
